OFF-MARKET PROPERTIES

There are some homeowners who want to sell their home, but don't want to go through the usual method of selling their home through the MLS system.  They may not want to have interior photos of their home displayed on the internet when anyone can see them, or they may not want to have dozens of people walking through their home, knowing that only a few people will actually be interested (or qualified) to purchase it.

The alternative is to contact an agent who will sell their home as an off-market home, sometimes referred to as a "hip-pocket listing" in the real estate industry.  Off-market listings aren't easy to sell, because the best way to sell a home is to expose it out to as many people as possible. The best way to do that is through the MLS system.  If the home isn't in the MLS system, the challenge is finding buyers.  Even the most successful real estate agents only have a dozen or so buyers at any given time, so it may take a single agent months to sell an off-market property.
